I don't remember when was the last time I posted about my small garden. Back then my small garden was fully occupied. I was searching for another vegetable to plant. I'm fond of flowers but I didn't think of planting since I was thinking of planting vegetables instead. As I've said before, I originally made this small garden for my mother's benefit.

Upon searching for another vegetable to plant, someone offered me seeds from "okra" or lady's finger or Gumbo." Not sure about this translation since the internet said it's hard to find the correct translation. The Philippines has an abundance of fruits and vegetables but I don't think it's the same for other countries. They have this kind of plant but I hope seeing the vegetable fruit will let someone recognize this one.

Early morning watering the plants in my small garden I didn't notice the okra vegetable started to bear fruit. A week ago I noticed one of them was showing flowers already. I was surprised since it's not too tall that I thought it wouldn't bear fruit yet. Keep watering, cleaning, and ignoring it. I saw that just today fruits of this vegetable are showing up. Of course, I'm so happy because I think that's the reaction we will have when seeing the results.

Let's dive into Google to learn the benefits of this vegetable.

| Okra is rich in vitamins A and C, as well as antioxidants that help reduce the risk of serious health conditions like cancer, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. | For more, you can visit here

I'm no expert and I'm not trying to let people false-believe what I'll be sharing. Individuals should search for their own as well. Even so, my mother used to tell me she loved okra because of the sticky characteristic. She even told me it's easier for her to release waste because of it. But if it's me you'll ask, I love this vegetable because of the taste. Not knowing the benefits it can give.

I planted 8 of them but only the 5 of them are growing well. Those who bear fruits are those not totally exposed to the sun and at least received enough sunlight in the morning. I'm still learning how they will be perfect to provide fruits but that's what I have observed so far. I have 3 plants of them hiding in a shed and until now it's not growing well. From the leaves and from their height, you can tell they are not healthy. The other 2 of them are very exposed to sunlight the whole time they receive it. They indeed grow well compared to those hiding in a shed house but still, it's not showing the sign to provide flowers until now. I planted them at the same time but they're not doing well for now.

That's how plants are but even so, I'm so thankful to see the flowers and the fruits they're showing. I'm thinking of planting other vegetables after seeing the results now. Well, I'm not sure if I can find more but I'll try.

They look really good to me! My okra plants, I have two of them, are very poor producers. One or two fruits on each plant a week. I have to save them up for a couple weeks to have a serving.

Gumbo is a dish, a soup usually, that has okra in it. I've never heard it called lady's fingers.
