Introducing Myself: Educare-project; giving hope to the hopeless.

Introduction

According to BBC news, 10.5 Million children in Nigeria are out of school which makes Nigeria the country with highest number of children that are out of school in the world. Source

The statistics is not just a paper work but real issue bedeviling the prospect of many youngsters in my country. Though is not only limited to Nigeria, as there are many countries in the world that are grappling with the same issue.

On a general note, the world is full of inequalities, uneven distribution of resources and amenities. People on the advantaged areas of life look down on the disadvantaged and even oppress them. Whereas, no man made the choice of where to be born.

Government's efforts

The Government has tried to arrest and curtail this situation, but the best of the government is not still enough to secure the hope of the country in terms of education for all. There have been many eras in the governance that education is declared free, but in the real sense, it is not free, as parents still have to pay some fees like examination fee, PTA level, security fee and many more in which when its totalled is more expensive than what an average citizen can afford which is why many children end up not going to school.

NGOs and Individual's efforts

There are many non Governmental organizations that have risen to take the challenge of education of Nigerian children. Many of them have built schools, classrooms and provided learning materials for children to learn. Many of this NGOs and individuals have given scholarships and grants to many children. This is one of the saving factors in our educational system.
The only way a child can escape the menace of low quaity education is if the parents can afford private school fees which are very expensive depending on the location and standard of the school.

The Role of Educare-project

Educare-project seek to build standard schools with good equipment and facilities but free of charge and accessible to the poor.

We want to see a world that is free of limitations and barriers. A world that gives equal opportunity to all.

Just think about it. Education is the only means through which the mind can get enlightened. But what happens to those that are naturally shut out of it through circumstance?

My Story and Motivation for the project.

My parents' desire was for me to attend a private school due to the low quality education that is obtained in public schools. But the desire could not be accomplished as I attented public primary school. So, I was a victim of low quality education at the elementary level. As a matter of fact, I could not speak English language through my entire six years in the primary school base on the fact that my parent couldn't afford to send me to a private school where my mates were speaking Queen's English.

As I grow up, I developed passion for children in my category whose parents would have loved to do better but no means, and most especially for children whose parents could not even afford to send to any school at all. I have burden for the coming generations of children who might be limited because of the parents' financial constraints. Every child deserves the best.

The Question

Thinking about this kind of capital intensive project, one of the questions that comes to mind is; Is it possible, can we actually build school for the poor with optimum quality and standard education? I like to say Yes we can! We have been receiving positive responses from people who can be of help and we are so positive that the project is turning a reality very soon.
