Do you know what the songs of milking is? - Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

In the plains states of Venezuela and since the times of the Spanish colony in many herds and plots, a very particular practice has been carried out when it comes to hand-milking a cow without knowing that recently in December of last year UNESCO declared the same as intangible heritage of humanity ... let's know exactly what it is about.

ORIGIN

As shown in the image, the cow is tied to the hind legs to avoid being kicked and injured. the calf is tied nearby for greater tranquility and confidence of the animal and finally sits on a bench or improvised chair the "milker" who is the person who with a lot of technique and skill product of the experience and transmission of knowledge generation after generation extract the juicy and frothy milk from the cow's udder.

It's not easy, I tell them; I have tried to do it and needs your time to get good results.

ORIGIN

So that this task was not something routine or tedious the milkers began to create songs, that is to say; they composed verses to the cows while they milked them until turning them into songs that the animal surely accepted with pleasure while they manipulated their udders ... to these verses they are known today as "CANTOS DE MILDE" having as maximum exponent of this country to the remembered and dear uncle Simón (Simón Díaz).

These songs and verses brought as consequences a process of research and historical review achieving that in December of 2017 the United Nations through UNESCO gave us the distinction of "Intangible Heritage of Humanity" as a safeguard of our cultural roots and of our own identity as Venezuelans.

ORIGIN

Who would say that singing a cow would make us famous? ... This is in short the history and meaning of the milking songs and their importance for us since today in the XXI century they are still heard in the fields and llanos de venezuela, the verses and songs that many women, men and children let hear in time with the rhythm of hands placed on the "tits" of a cow.

If you are curious about listening to a milking song here I leave you a YOUTUBE link so you can have an idea ... in the voice of the Venezuelan Soledad Bravo.

Happy day everyone.
