So, first.....

Who is Jose Rizal?

Jose Rizal, in full, JOSÉ PROTACIO RIZAL MERCADO Y ALONSO REALONDA (born on June 19, 1861, Calamba, Philippines and died on December 30, 1896, Manila, Philippines). He was a patriot, physician and man of letters whose life and literary works were an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement. He is considered to be the National Hero of the Philippines.

So, ever since I was in my elementary years 'till in my tertiary years in schooling, we tackled about Jose Rizal. It's always been a part on our curriculum the moment Rizal Law (Republic Act no. 1425) had been put up into a law. A law that states that all public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the country must include in their curricula, courses or subject about the life, works, and, writings of Dr. Jose Rizal, particularly the novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Felibusterismo. In this law, the new generation or the millennials today, especially millennials in the Philippines would be able to know who is Jose Rizal and what are the significant contributions he made in the country. And would be also past through generation to another generations would come.

And now, let me share to you one of his favorite novel.

While roaming around inside the national bookstore in SM Cebu, I saw this novel and it reminds me of Jose Rizal. When Jose Rizal was still studying in Ateneo de Municipal (1873-1877) he devoted himself in reading novels, and one of these most was Alexander Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo". I found it quite interesting that's why I bought it. And, would have a chance this question running on my mind would be answered.

And that's all for now....
