It is said that if a task is done with full concentration then it stays in our memory for a long time and also we can memorize the content in less time.
About 10% of the people can make themselves concentrate because they actually have a zeal to complete the task. The issue is with the rest 90%. Here are some of the ideas through which you can improve your concentration.
MEDITATION :
For this, you have to follow certain steps.
- Find a peaceful spot for performing the activity
- Set the timer for how much longer you wish to perform the activity
- Close your eyes and start concentration on your breath
- You may get distracted a number of times but try to concentrate on your breath again
By performing this activity daily you can improve your concentration 3 to 4 times with the present. The improvement won't be seen quickly. The result would take some time.
SLEEP :
For a normal human being, it is important to get a proper sleep of 7 to 8 hours. Never try to cut short your sleep by doing regular night outs. It would crash your brain if done so. After having a good sleep we feel less lazy and also our concentrating power increases. It is always suggested to pick a hard topic to readjust after you get up. Coz as you ems your day reading your willpower eventually decreases and you will have very less concentration.
EXERCISE :
For the improvement in the mental health it is important we perform physical activities. Oxygen is important for the brain to improve its efficiency and for that purpose exercise is the best way. Do not perform hardcore activities as it would drain your body but regular exercises are good for your mental ability
REGULAR BREAKS :
It is said they we cannot concentrate on one thing for more than an hour and it would also drive you crazy. So having regular breaks can solve the problem and also would keep you more interested in the topic. You can perform the 50-10 min formula. That means study for 50 minutes and then take 10 minutes break. This works great.
DIET :
It is suggested that we take light and healthy diet because overeating would cause a lot of load on digestion and would make you feel sleepy. As much as possible try avoiding junk foods and foods with lot of sugar because they makes you feel dizzy. Thomas Jefferson said, we rarely regret eating too little. It’s likely you’ll find that you need less food to satisfy yourself than you think.
PLANNING :
Having a plan is always appreciated. Planning would save a load of time and also makes you to have a track on the list of activities you performed or you are going to perform. It also plays a role in motivating you. Giving deadlines to yourself also helps to get the job done.
Practise makes people perfect. It is important we perform these activities daily inorder to improve our concentration.
