Is University is necessary?

So What do you think? Is going to university and getting a degree is really necessary? I DON'T THINK SO!
Well, that's just my opinion. Your's can be different.
University is not that important but our society has made it so. Everybody wants to get in, become a SLAVE and want to get a DECENT JOB even though he/she is not satisfied from inside.
For example, myself. I don't want to go to university but my parents have forced me to get in and study. What to do? I can't do anything They think that if I get in, I'll hopefully get a better job and a better future. but that's not the case.
I am studying programming. I can easily earn through from home from freelancing. Degree is not important. Education is.
In this world, we are studying just to get a degree not to educate ourselves and that ithink, is the main reason of our downfall.
