Pixabay photoA child's success in school is fortified at home, it cannot be good enough for a child to make it anywhere outside the home if they are not well prepared for the outcome outside the home. Trust me, i know because I am still my parents child.
You can encourage a child to succeed in their scholastic duties by helping them study for exams. Whether a child is preparing for a specific exam, or creating good study habits overall, the parental support can make a huge difference in that child’s ability to do well.
Keep in mind, that the less you do for them, the more they learn, but you must encourage a learning pattern that will help them move past the fails. Additionally, helping to create a stress-free environment at home will do wonders for a child’s capacity to study and thrive in school. I am a living testimony to that.
Create a family study calendar.
When a child is preparing for exams, help them create a family type calendar that will bring about an inclusive learning routine. I for one, my parents, ensure that we do the learning together. My dad is more of like the very busy guy, but he always makes sure to pop in every now and then to offer some supports, push and cheering when it is needed, and sometimes he scolds.
being able to see that the house is very interested in the exam that a child getting set to take will help that child put in their best because, it now becomes, a family affair. A family that studies together, passes together.
Provide the necessary materials.
Preparation is incomplete without the necessary materials that will allow for studying. You must be willing to make sure that, the books and tools needed by that child is available and can be seen for the benefits of learning. There are some books I really do not need for my studies because the school did not include it in the list, but my dad buys them anyway, because he says he feels they may come handy and the truth is, they mostly come handy.
There is this particular assignment that was given to me in school and the reference point was supposed to be in the approved textbook, but I was surprised that after hours of searching, I couldn't fin it there and that got me so upset.
After what seemed like forever, I went and brought out the other book and what I saw humbled me.
It is important to arm yourself with the necessary books.
Take time out to practice.
I use the past question papers of my seniors. I have been able to learn some very difficult subjects through the use of past questions. "If there is a class ahead of you, it means someone has been there before you and if you search well enough, you will find that these subjects will always be repeated but in different styles."- my dad.
I think we should all be encouraged to check out past questions and create practice time that will help us get an understanding of the process. i have been doing that and in my last exam, I did that and it was so easy getting to make an impact.
Play light, sleep well.
It is a child's thing to play and without playing, jack will be a dull boy. I play when I have to, but when it comes to the exams period, I try to keep the playtime light, (my dad will not smile at me too.)
Playing is good and I enjoy playing, but when it comes to the time for study, I try and separate them. When you play light and rest more, you will be able to get so much into your brain. Sleep can do you good after studying.
These are the thoughts of my minds as a young school individual who enjoys reading and hopes to be awesome. I try my best to make sure I learn right and prepare very well for my exams so that I come out in flying colors.
