Given the public health, financial, technological and geographical challenges we are currently facing, the municipal school board has decided to use the modular type of learning. To put it in context, some barangays identified as Geographically Isolated Disadvantage Area (GIDA) can only be accessed after paying 3500 pesos fare from Poblacion, a financial burden that is heavy for both teachers and students. Because modular distance learning depends heavily on printing, we need bond papers, printers and inks.
Last month we had a school board meeting together with the principal, district officer and LGU. As of now, we have a total 8654 enrollees for all learning institutions under LGU-San Luis, Philippines both Elementary and High School. Attached here are detailed breakdown of the estimated 21 million pesos total projected cost for module reproduction for the first school quarter of 2020 from October to December. This is based on DepEd estimates of 12 subjects, each with its own 20-page thick module every week. For the cost of bond papers alone, estimates of 12.5 million pesos will be spent from October to December. We already exhaust our funds from MLGU and MOOE's from schools. We still have almost 14 million remaining amount from the total projected cost. Considering all of these, we come up with online fund raising events for the whole month of September. These will be called is called " MALASAKIT MO, KINABUKASAN KO". There will be raffle draws and auctions. Donations of plants, bags and etc will be open to everyone and will be facilitated by LGU. These efforts are made for the bright future of our children, since they are the hope of our nation. Then if you have extra cash, remember that every peso is equivalent to sheets for our students. Any amount will do.
We are humbly asking for your help. We are knocking at your hearts to join us and support us with our intention for our children.
Have a nice day and God bless us all!
