Carry On Studying (Part 1) Introduction Into The Lives Of Objects

in education •  7 years ago  (edited)

Follow me through my journey as an arts & humanities student.

I will be honest...this part of my studies does not float my boat and when I had to analyse a Cezanne painting last year my heart sank into a dark oblivion where I contemplated sticking my over used pencil in my eyeball as an alternative punishment.

But I did learn the most from that assignment and it actually got me into art. Funny that.

I am still not looking forward to this though but it may surprise me like last time.

The lives of objects part of this module is designed to help create ways in which to describe objects, their uses and how to make sense of their purpose. I will be cracking on with this in due course and in fairness I am starting quite early as my planner doesn't start until next month.

I will be coming up with some ideas on how to describe objects in the coming weeks with what I have learned.

But why don't you have a go (and help me out haha)

Does this object tell a story? This is not part of my assignment by the way.

Very interesting idea it is. When we think deeply the word 'ART' - it is quite deep and you cannot exclude any object out of its gambit... isn't it?

Yes I was very ignorant to it before but it has helped with my explanation of things particuarly in creative writing

We did a similar set of writing exercises in high school, the perfect time for this kind of exploration.

We had to pick an object ( there were some qualifiers on type) and write as the object. A day in the physical and interior life of___________________.

Really did make me think! Oh by the way, I was Ringo Starr's drum kit. Poor thing always being pounded on!
