Yesterday March 14th, marked the 142nd birthday of the iconic scientist and father of modern physics, Abert Eistein.
In 1939, Einstein signed the Einstein–Szilárd letter drafted by Leó Szilárd. Einstein signed off on it. The gist of the letter was that Germany was attempting to develop an atomic bomb. Roosevelt was extremely interested in the letter. Despite the fact that the United States was not yet a participant in the Second World War, he ordered the creation of the Advisory Committee on Uranium.
