So we were going to upgrade to 4K at Christmas and then the 55 inch 4K ultra- high- definition tv that we wanted went on sale!
This screenshot was taken on the NHK high definition channel, they are the pioneers of 4K and 8K ultra -high - definition. They are now testing over the air 8K, and when we watched NHK over the air HD even with our old 2K tv you could see the quality.
It is really surprising just how good digital over the air tv is now, compared to old analog tv.
If you have not looked into free tv you should, we cut the cord two years ago, and we can get 16-18 channels depending on the weather, in digital quality! Even the audio, that now uses fiber optic cables and laser light to send optical audio in five channel surround sound is fantastic!
So i guess it is Christmas in August this year!!
