Techno is exciting. Techno is diverse. Techno is various. Controversial enough yet? You'll say show me proof, well then get comfortable, close your eyes and take a listen. Let this tune take you on a journey one might think only possible with classic trance or progressive with their dreamy soundscapes and melodic ponderings.
A tight bottom end and energetic driving kick from the get go might fool you into thinking that this is yet another hard and dark track that will be menacing and unforgiving, but quick enough the lush atmosphere starts to unravel itself to give way to dreamy ringing sprinkles, sparkly mids and chatty ghostly voices reminiscent of gentle robotic giants.
Yet it is not all happy go lucky all the way through either - the added layer of tension and wonder is achieved by curious arps and controlled bassline, with some anxiousness rearing it's head in a second part of the track, but keeping it rather tame, not unlike an excitement of an unfamiliar place and venturing outside of the comfort zone which is particularly fitting given that there is nothing ordinary or staple about this tune. It sets itself apart by being adventurous and uncompromisingly courageous in the road it paves.
It is no secret that contrast and shifting energy is a welcome presence in a well constructed music piece as well as music being a conversation among it's elements, in case of Dream Alone, it would be like talking to an old friend that you haven't seen in years and you are eager to share all stories happy and trying.
What is Tune of the Day?
Something that I do for my rising revelations series is search for new music daily. So it is only natural that I should be sharing some of the daily highlights as too often the tracks are amazing but they don't make it into a final episode as they might not fit that week's mood or concept.
More than anything, the reasoning behind the series was always sharing new exciting music by artists that are longing to be heard so any extra exposure is a good thing.
All artists featured on the blog are contacted and notified of the post, and get a gentle nudge to join this incredible community.
I love putting my feelings about music into writing so each post will also have a couple of my own words on why I love that particular track and how I perceive it, a mini-review of sorts.
As an added bonus all tracks featured are available for a free download, generously provided by the artists. Please enjoy them in your music players, DJ sets and shared playlists and endorse hard work of some talented people.
