Ethereal Techno :: Tune of the Day : AgainstMe - It's Always You (Intro Version)

in electronicmusic •  7 years ago

Categorizing in a subgenre of your own can go only two ways really, in a case of AgainstMe he knows what he is doing. Calling this a Progressive Techno track would do it a disservice, as it wouldn't truly capture the spirit of the hybrid approach to the production of this tune. It is both hard hitting and smooth, deep and airy, soothing and biting. There are darker undertones that come out to play as soon as the first drop announces itself but they are quickly balanced out by a melodic structure that slowly builds itself until it reaches sublime peak in a breakdown shifting energies towards a more introspective direction and morphing into an atmospheric immersive experience. What comes out as a result is a hugely inspired and inspiration track that can fit into a variety of settings adding that unique sound to any crate allowing you to take listener into whole range of directions, depending on the creativity of the selector. It's always a pleasure to hear unique voice of the artist on a track and here we can witness a whole lot of passion for an array of electronic music, coming together as both a tribute and a look ahead into the future of sound.

What is Tune of the Day?

Something that I do for my rising revelations series is search for new music daily. So it is only natural that I should be sharing some of the daily highlights as too often the tracks are amazing but they don't make it into a final episode as they might not fit that week's mood or concept.

More than anything, the reasoning behind the series was always sharing new exciting music by artists that are longing to be heard so any extra exposure is a good thing.

I love putting my feelings about music into writing so each post will also have a couple of my own words on why I love that particular track and how I perceive it, a mini-review of sorts.

I dig it. I think it's cool how we are seeing a little bit of that classic trance feel make it's way back into some house and techno productions lately. This is a solid Soundcloud find.

That is definitely one of the thoughts I had, when listening to the track for the review, very trance inspired from the days I remember listening to it. I mean influences in general make full circles all the time, like all this analog sound revival for example, and I can only see it as a good thing, inspiration can come from anywhere and it's nice to see people's influences make it into their productions. Thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoyed it!

Another awesome track!

Cheers, man, I quite enjoyed it so it was no-brainer to feature it as a tune of the day :) Thanks for checking it out!
