To be perfectly honest, I was a little disappointed in visiting Christiansø. It is not that the island is very big and the island of Græsholm was a little too far away to make photo's of the abundant bird life there (as this was a bicycle vacation I didn't have a good telephoto lens with me.)
You have seen pretty much everything in 2 hours and the fortress buildings where not open to visitors (it is not clear if they can be visited full stop.)
So, when I found a pool with lelies and frogs and still 2 hours more for the ferry to go back, I decided to kill my time in shooting them. The light was a bit harsh for it, but in the end i got some photo's where I am happy with. And the frogs where happy as well, so it seems...
- This is the 10th part in a series about Bornholm during my week long stay in 2016:
- The first 5 parts were about Østerlars Krike, last part of which you will find here,
- Part 6 and 7 were about Gudhjem.
- Part 8 and 9 is about Christiansø.
Unless otherwise noted, all photo's are made by myself!
