Emotional malnutrition or emotional anaemia is the lack of adequate nutrition caused by a shortage of essential nutrients to the body. It is more common among people in their thirties and forties. Symptoms are: fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, poor concentration, low self esteem, constant sickness, decreased libido and weight gain. You need help to manage these and get back to being the person you were before pregnancy. Medications may be necessary and you will probably want to speak to your doctor about this as well. There are many options for treatment and you should explore all of them.
Emotional malnutrition is not just about the body. It's also about how you feel about yourself. It is very important that you recognize your emotional shortcomings and work to rebuild them. You can and will be able to regain control of your life and regain your happiness.
By controlling your emotions, you will also gain a healthier body. There is no point in denying or beating yourself up about the things that are painful to you. Instead, acknowledge these things and work to change them. You can build self-esteem and confidence when you are in control of your emotions.
