Preparation of my sculpture "Mystic" Part 1 - Modeling

I hope you are very well, in this opportunity I want to show you and know the long process that takes to make a sculpture in clay, with emptying in cement.

This publication will be part 1 of 3. Since it is a long process, and I do not want to make this publication I have so extensive, please join me in remembering this moment.

This sculpture I did, when I was in the 2nd semester of my university, in the subject of Sculpture 1

I had to make a simple sketch, as a guide to the sculpture I wanted to make.

Followed by the development of a "model" to have a guide at the time of making the sculpture.

And with the elaboration of this, I started with the base and structure of the sculpture.

With a water resistant wood, and structure a stick in the middle to fix it, wire and newspaper, tape or tirro. And also use Envoplast paper, with the newspaper and the ribbon I gave a similarity in the form

This is made so that the piece is hollow, and not so heavy, since so much clay is not used.

I added clay giving the desired shape.

It can be noticed next to the small "Model"

Little by little I added clay and I perfected

use of instruments for sculpture.

With the sponge is much better to soften the clay and not be rustic, and it is also good to have a sprayer with water to keep it wet so it does not dry and can work better.

To preserve it, since it was not treated every day the trick to keep it moist and not dry was to wet a rag or flannel, well soaked and cover it

then put a black bag, since the black bag traps the heat better and makes the cloth sweat and be wet.
