ACKNOWLEDGING THE STARTLE OF BEING OBSERVED.
I decided to take a walk through the streets of my city on a sunny and peaceful day. I strolled absentmindedly, enjoying the surroundings and the activities of daily life. Everything was fine until I experienced a strange sensation, as if someone was watching me.
And indeed, I felt a bewildering gaze on my back. I instinctively turned my head to the side, intrigued, searching for the source of that curious glimpse. That's when my eyes met those of a stranger. In that moment, I sensed surprise between us, as neither of us could maintain our gaze for long, and we hurriedly went our separate ways.
Of course, this is not the first time I find myself in such a situation; in fact, I have been the observer myself on most occasions with the same outcome.
In this reflection, I exclude those individuals whose sense of being "watched" may be related to other factors, such as anxiety and paranoia. Subjective experiences can differ, and there isn't always an explanation.
I believe that almost all of us have perceived an inexplicable connection like this at some point. Perhaps in this world, our energies intertwine, allowing us to sense the presence of others around us.
There are theories, which I am not yet familiar with, that attempt to explain this phenomenon and refer to it as "The Gaze Sensation," relating it to selective attention, intuition, subliminal perception, and other patterns of behavior.
I am almost certain that I am not alone in this experience, and I often wonder how many other people have gone through this reality. How many of us have ever been observed by someone?
