I had to pause a minute from watching a movie that will help me finish up a surprise I got for you lot tomorrow to do this post, mostly out of obligation (because I wanna finish my challenge of daily posts about movies this week).

When I watched the trailer of this film last year, the sole purple-ness of it automatically made me -as a gif maker on Tumblr- wish to see it and then have it so I can make gifs for it. The colors were what, primarly, got to me.

The Florida Project (directed by Sean Baker) tells the story of six-year-old Moonee (played by Brooklynn Prince), as she lives in a motel with her young mother Halley (Bria Vinaite), and her friends Scooty (Christopher Rivera) and Jancey (Valeria Cotto).

The whole movie - which is honestly the most american indie film I've seen in a while (like, the amount of raw work done into this film is worth of recognition) - travels through pretty much what little, hyper-active Moone is up to with her friends and just starts to have a palpable plot when it's half an hour to end.

The last twenty or so minutes are what ultimately made this film not absolutely suck for me, being honest. This movie is an ode to childhood but I guess it's just more entertaining to live childhood than to watch it in a movie - even if it was shot on 35mm film, which is really impressive.

Also that last scene played flawlessly by Prince, good God. I do hope she gets the praise she deserves and I hope she continues to be in the acting world, because she sure is talented.

The rating for this piece of work by Sean Baker is:
