The nostalgic goggles : Mortal Kombat

Finish him

The voice said. The bigger kid is trying to give in a code but nothing happens.

He tries again and suddenly the screen turns darker and one of the ninjas who were fighting before takes of his mask and breathe fire on the other one.

The people around are laughing.

I am in kind of in shock.

WTF did I just witness

Let me tell you young Flipstar...this was the first Fatality you saw.

I was hooked instantly. I always enjoyed Beat em ups like Street Fighter but that was something new.

A bloody, gory Street Fighter

The game was Mortal Kombat 1

I became a huge part of the series, despite me being not 18 yet and it was hard to get for minor. The fire breathing ninja whose name is Scorpion became my favorite character.

I bought Mortal Kombat 2 for the SNES from an older friend and despite Mario it is the game I used the most time for and still never beat it as it got frustrating unfair at the end.

I tried to unlock all the hidden characters but the clues the game were giving you were a bit to cryptic for me.

Remember that was a time before the internet and all the codes were from magazines or exchanged on the school yard.

After all this years and many more MK games which came out over the years and pushed the violence even further, I am still a fan of the franchise.

The newest game Mortal Kombat X is a pretty good fighting game and Netherrealm Studios has by far the best Story Modus I have seen in a fighting game.

Injustice 2 just proofed that again how many lightyears they are ahead in this aspect of their competition.

And how we epically failed to finish him. We all just did a punch of kick 😂😂😂

took me a while to get them done for sure....was frustrating :-)

It wasn’t until the ps2 that I figured it out.

So much memories behind this..

This was the pinnacle of my adolescence.

I remember the first day I got it right... I was walking like Zeus among the lesser gods that couldn't get it right!

I remember the feeling , too felt the same way :-)

Remember how I used to copy codes from friends way back, but I mostly played on Sega genesis, the option for fatality, brutality and Bability was always available but a myth and still a myth was the option for animality which am still yet to figure out.

Brings back memories and I still play most of them via emulators when the chance is available

Animalities came with MK3 afaik.

Could you do like 1 button fatalities etc on Sega Genesis?

Yes you can, you just have to set it via the hidden menu from startup mode, you can choose either fatality 1 or fatality 2, then when the finish him comes up, just press the appointed button for it, lol fun time

It is very sad. excellent games!

what is sad?

I still wander back to those games with my grand kids. I can't keep up with the technology but I did love the old days way back when. My favorites were the RPG's for the super Nintendo. There were so many! Thanks for the memory!

Secret of mana was one of the best games made for the SNES imo.

I loved Secret of Evermore and I have Earthbound and Link to the Past downloaded to the Wii U so my grand sons can see where the games they play came from (plus I enjoy playing them from time to time).

Secret of Evermore I only played a bit but I really liked it as well.

Earthbound I only heard about recently.

Anscheinend hast du dich mit gleichen Dingen wie ich damals befasst...;-)
Legendary one!!!!
Könnte alle Tricks mit scorpion oder wie der hieß!
10 Jahre später nix mehr!
Voll abgeloost!!!
Aaaaaaaaarg.....

Ich glaub das Speer ging back back + punch :-)

Wir haben mal zusammen zu zocken!!!!
Auch wenn ich jämmerlich abk*****!!!!!!
😂😵
Das Spiel ist einfach Kult!!!

Mortal Kombat 1 was also the first game i ever played because my brother loved it and we played together. I remember quite well that fatality...Scorpion and i also liked a lot the one from Kano with the ripped heart. I will have to give a try to Mortal Kombat X :)

I think the most memorable one was Sub Zeros rip ff the head with the spine

Its a good one but was i was never able to do it :/

I got a copy of MK X for PS4 since I was a fan of the series back on Sega Megadrive and while I enjoyed the nostalgia of playing the game again it quickly got boring

The amount of DLC's one had to get and the limited range of characters was annoying. I would think by how far we are in this franchise all the characters we grew up with will be available to play with

the graphics i have to say were amazing, the finishers more brutal than ever and the combos even harder to pull off than they were before which makes for an entertaining play with friends but not for very long

I agree especially the DLC shit which is sadly standard in new games.

Most games dont suck me into them as used to but I think that is the age.

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

memories just revived again so great that is

I love this game @flipstar, it hurts that it is very bad playing, and always lose. God bless you, congratulations for your great article.

Regards...

;-) Ich habe das hier öfter mal gespielt:

This one I dont knew. Looks...simple...but I bet it was fun anyway

;-)

Memories right there! 1995! Sub zero was my fav 😂🤣

Scorpion all the way

very nice game... if i could play..... thanks for shareing....
