The Pink Lifelessons #2 Start embracing who you are

in entrepreneur •  7 years ago

When I was younger I always believed you could only be taken seriously by wearing formal clothes. Ah, what a little boor I was. Just another dime in a dozen. Ever since seeing Ellen Degeneris on tv though, I realize fashionable is also conscious. Authentic. Strong. Confident. How cool is she, and what a role model to the youth! I wish every little girl growing up could have that same positivity, vibe and strength as her.

Now I finally realize it’s not only good to be you, it’s great to be you. It has been the scariest feeling. To stop trying to blend in, and start popping up from the crowd. To give up that sense of safety. If you’re in a environment that doesn’t embrace the unicorn in you, than you have to leave, my dear. Get away from that toxic environment that is killing all the energy and authenticity in you because it’s exhausting not to be able to express yourself. Whether if that’s in words, thoughts or the way you look. ✨🦄✨. ⠀

couldnt agree more with this perspective. Whenever you stop caring what others think and fully embrace your own uniqueness (just follow your heart) you end up so much happier. I have found that this has been most difficult in content creation, but id prefer to die on my own sword than live with regret.

I like your metaphor, dying by your own sword! :D Thanks for commenting :)
