Millionaires are not made in a day, there are endless efforts which are put into business to take it to that position. Today we shall talk about the most important skills that Millionaires master to reach their goals. These skills are not to be followed by someone for 90 days and leave instead if you want to go on this road you may have to take these skills with you for your life long journey. Why millionaires are different from others, why they appear to be so lucky in getting wealthy and successful in life? Because they put in endless efforts to reach those positions. Following are some of the skills which they master to be what they want to be.
Idea crowdsourcing
Idea crowdsourcing is very important. Some people consider their ideas to be some golden tickets. No they are not. You just have to come out of your comfort zone and discuss your idea with people. Discuss its weaknesses, discuss why your idea is not worthy, why people will not like it, in which ways is it going to be a failure. And you will see that as you get more and more feedback then your idea will start getting refined and requirement oriented.
Persuasion
When you are starting your own business and you are on the way of being Entrepreneur, a very important thing is Persuasion. In business you always have to persuade people, either selling them something, selling them your ideas or even just persuading someone to be a part of your journey. You may have to persuade your parents to be with you, your friends and colleagues to work with you, your relatives to believe in you and list goes on. One should learn to persuade people on daily basis, they may be your parents, your spouse or may be anyone.In persuasion everyone is your customer.Persuasion is a building block of an Entrepreneur. One who want to be successful in the business should be good at selling and persuading.
Reading people
Reading people is as important as doing business. We are not talking here about some palmist practices. When you are in practice you have to take care of people all the time. What they are saying, what they are demanding, what they are up to, what they are proposing. A good business man should be able to understand gestures of a person who is talking to him/her. Sometimes people get trapped by those who are trusted in the first place. Why this happens? This happens because we miss some clues in the conversations which were an indication of the fact that the person is not trustable. This skill develops with time, after many trials and errors but still should be kept in mind.
Sharing the wealth
This may sound ridiculous but hang on. It will make sense as I explain it. Do you know how many shares did Steve Jobs own in Apple when he died? Let me tell you, 0.6%. Seriously? Yes. Person who want to take its business off the ground and want to keep it there, must know how money works. Money attracts money and you should remember this fact in your business too. If your business helps your customers to earn money and increase their profits, they will definitely come to business with you. Take examples of Facebook, Google, Amazon etc. these businesses help their customers to increase their profits and help them earn money in one way or the other. They help either by providing great tools for marketing, advertisement or may be providing targeted audience to vendors. In a nutshell, learn how money works and how your business can help your customers to earn more money. Make sure that when you earn money, your customer should also get something of value in return too.
Leverage
Leverage is one more important skill that you need to learn. It means maximizing the use and benefit of your resources to its fullest. You should learn how to be resourceful, how to delegate tasks to others and how to distribute work for you and your team. Manage and utilize your resources to the maximum. Learn how to offer help to others and how to ask for when you need it from others.
Recruiting
Well, it is also one of the most important things in business. Recruiting. People who are good in business are also good in recruiting people. They are good in hiring people. Good recruiters do not recruit by just focusing on the academic background of the candidate instead they focus on their life experiences, their achievements in life, their ups and downs of life and what they want to achieve in life. Good recruiters also know how to retain their employees and keep them loyal to the company. I’ll be writing another detailed article on recruitment and employee retention soon.
Energy Management
Learn how to manage your energy. There are ways to maintain your energy level. Eat and drink healthy and do exercise. Do not go for Energy drinks to boost you up. I personally do not drink even Tea or coffee. These are not the things to keep you energetic guys. You may use them in case you need them badly but do not make them a habit.
Issue Processing
One who want to be a millionaire should be able to handle and resolve issues and problems. In business, problems are not a rare event, they will occur often. One should be resourceful enough to solve problems. One thing important, be loyal and honest to yourself and your employees if you really want to resolve issues in the long run. One should be fast in devising ways for the solution of the problem. Brainstorm fast, put your employees first in priority. I mean it, if you’ll keep your employees first, remember they will keep you first. You cannot handle all ups and downs by yourself but your employees can. Keep your employees happy and they will keep your business happy.
Time Management
Well, this is something which nobody should have doubt on. Numerous books have been written on this topic. I’ll be brief here. Instead of wasting your time on social media and useless newsfeed, focus yourself on talking to your clients. Talk to your peers. Do social networking. Enlarge your circle. Reach out to more and more people daily. Talk to people around you about your product or business. Make good use of your time. You may use social media for your benefit, reach out to your desired audience in community, talk to them, and get feedback.
Manage money
Again learn to manage money and learn how money works and circulates in the world. Learn what are Assets, Commodities and Liabilities? Learn how these things are directly and psychologically related to Poor, Middle level and Rich people. Make good use of your money too. If you don’t have any good idea to spend your money right now then good, save it instead of spending on useless things which might be of low cost but they drastically damages your budget and your spending habits. Have you ever wondered by Google, Facebook and other tech are so much great in research and development? Because they have money to make decisions accordingly. So whatever your level may be, Save and invest accordingly on useful ventures.
Aggressively patient
Well this may surprise you because both these words are opposite to each other. But wait till I explain. Actually it is the attitude of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneursarevery aggressive in their work but in parallel they are very patient in what they accomplish. They silently tell themselves that its ok, everything will work out one day, just keep going. They do not panic on their failures and do not let their small successes hinder their pace of progress. There is a great quotation;
“DO NOT LET YOUR FAILURE GET TO YOUR HEART AND
DO NOT LET YOUR SUCCESS GET TO YOUR MIND”
Learning
This is something very important. Keep Learning. You never know when someone is coming to compete you and beat you only because that person has just a little more knowledge than you. Keep reading more books, keep learning more stuff about your business. You should be the best in your business. You should know more about your business than anybody else in the market. You should know the requirements even more than your customers.
