How I Make A Full-Time Income Online: Kindle Publishing

in entrepreneurship •  7 years ago

If you were to ask me what’s the best way to go from zero to making $50-$100 a day online I’d tell you kindle publishing.Kindle has been around for a while now but has only become popular over the past couple years. I was able to take the last $1700 in my bank account and turn that into a $7000/month income from Kindle publishing in a short period of time while focusing on it only part-time.Over the past couple years I’ve discovered a pretty awesome way to publish over 50+ kindle books in a short period of time – all of which I didn’t write myself. And each book I put out creates a monthly passive income each month.

HOW I GOT INTO KINDLE PUBLISHING

The very first online business I got involved with was kindle publishing back in 2015. If you were to tell me a couple months before that I’d be publishing books on the internet I would have called you crazy. I had no idea that something like this was possible.I had just quit my job and was looking around the internet for ways to make money online. I came across a YouTube video about a guy making a killing selling books on Amazon. I was instantly hooked and decided to buy his training program. A month after getting started I had around 4 books published and was making sales. It was crazy because I wasn’t really doing a whole lot and money was coming in each day. Guess that’s the power of passive income eh? I was shocked that 12 hours after publishing my book it started getting sales. It seemed too easy!I started putting out 1 book per week and quickly saw my income grow to a couple hundred bucks per month. I figured that if I was putting out 1 book per week and making a couple hundred, what if I put out 2 books per week?So that’s what I did. I started putting out 2 books per week, 3 books per week, and finally 4 books per week. 60 days later I had built an income of $3200/month passive income. The reason I was able to put out so many books is because they were short (30-40 pages). Short books like this that solve a problem are super popular right now. Nobody wants to spend weeks reading a non-fiction book anymore.Everything was outsourced. The book writing process, cover design, editing, etc. All I had to do was upload the book to Amazon.A few months later my income hit $6000/month…and then finally $7000.And over the past few years, I’ve been learning and implementing new strategies to automate the majority of the business. People started asking about what I was doing and wanted me to teach them all about it. That was pretty cool.I had found something that actually WORKED. People wanted to know more. The only thing was I had a limited amount of time in the day and couldn’t help everyone while running my business.

THE KINDLE INCOME METHOD

The kindle income method has 6 primary steps and this is what I teach in the SPR program but in much more detail. I wrote some notes on each step below as well. The entire process is pretty simple and straightforward and an entire book can go from idea to published in less than a week (depending on where you get it done). Obviously, if you want to write it yourself it will take longer but that’s not part of my process. The most important parts are steps 1-4, and this is the part where I spend 80% of my time. Here is the general process:Step 1: Keyword ResearchThis is the MOST important part since this sets you up for either success or failure. This is where you see if your book will make money or not BEFORE it is even written. Keyword research is when you search on Amazon to see if your book niche is popular, and how much competition you will have. This is essential because if nobody is searching for your niche, it doesn’t matter how good and well written your book is, nobody will buy it.I generally will spend 1 or 2 days out of the month and come up with a list of potential books to get created. I come up with a list of 10-20 book ideas, and once that’s done, I’ll send my favorite out to be done.Step 2: Title CreationThis is the second important step that will either make or break your book. The title of your book is key, not only for selling but also for keyword ranking on Amazon. Your title needs to be attractive and draw in the potential reader. Your title has to show them that your book will solve their problem. Not only this but your title also has to have keywords in it to rank high on the Amazon site. You could have the best book written, but if nobody can find it, how well do you think it will do?Step 3: Cover CreationThis is a major step in the process because the cover is the first thing that draws a person in. When they’re searching through the site, the first thing that will catch their attention is the cover. This means your cover needs to be visually appealing and stand out from everyone else. It needs to be unique, clean and simple. Covers can be made from as little as $5. This is all a cover costs me.Step 4: Book DescriptionAfter your cover gets the readers attention, and the title draws them in, the next thing they will look at is the description. This means your description has to tell them what the book is about and how it will solve their problem. Your description should be lengthy and outline every major benefit they will get from reading your book and how your book is better than everyone else’s.Step 5: Outsource BookThere are many different sites out there that you can send your book to in order to be written. There are companies that can do this, or you can hire an outsourcer on freelance websites. I’ve done both and I prefer dealing with the companies. All that’s required of me is to send them the title, and length of the book. They will research and take care of everything. My books always start out at about 5000 words and then I usually will go back and add more words to the book once it’s selling. 5000 is a good starting length because it allows you to test the market and see how well the book will sell without jumping head first and spending a lot of money. The whole idea should be to keep costs low at the start. A 5000-word book will cost me a total of around $55-65 (total for everything).Step 6: Edit and Publish Your BookOnce your book is done, it’s time to edit your book and upload it to Amazon. This is very easy and can be done and live on Amazon in hours. The awesome thing about ebooks is that you can always fix things and upload a new file. This means your book doesn’t have to be perfect before you put it out. You can always go back and make it better or fix spelling mistakes. Just remember, done is better than perfect. Don’t wait for your book to be perfect because it never will be.Step 7: Promote and Get ReviewsOnce your book is live on Amazon it’s time to start getting some sales. I always start my book at $0.99 and this is because you need to get as many sales and reviews as possible in the shortest amount of time to rank high on Amazon. I usually do this for about a week and once I have some reviews I’ll do a free promotion. This is where you give your book away for free for 5 days. The object of this is to get a bunch of sales in a few days and boost your book up the ranks. After the promo, I usually either push up my price to $2.99 or $4.95.There you have it. That’s basically the entire process of Kindle Publishing. Seems pretty easy right? You’re probably thinking now that there must be more. While that is the entire process, I would recommend further education on the process in more detail. I’m now going to share with you the course I took to learn how to do this. This course was great, it walked me step by step through the process and it was incredibly easy to follow along. This course shows you everything you need to know, from where to get the books written, covers done, and how to promote your book.

WHAT CAN YOU MAKE FROM KINDLE?

The great thing about kindle is that the possibilities are endless. Want to make an extra thousand per month? Done. How about 3k? Done. What If you want to quit your job and make six figures from publishing? That is absolutely achievable. The amount of money is determined by how much time you put into it and how many books you have. The more books the more money you’ll make. The minimum that I expect each of my books to make is $50/month. That’s kinda an average number because some of my books make $30/month, and others make up to $500/month. Each book sells for around $2.99 and you get 70% of that. 25 sales per month would be around $50. My books cost anywhere from $50-$100 to get created so my goal is to break even at month 2 at the latest. So basically, the first month or two you publish a book, you’ll break even, which is completely fine. After 2 months you’ll have your investment back and it’s pure profit after that. Think about this…if 1 book makes you $50/month at the minimum, that’s over $600 a year from 1 book!At $100/month that’s $1200/year…$200/month is $2400/year…not too bad?If you could create books like this making $50-$100/month, how many would you make? I know for me it’d be A LOT!I saw how powerful this business model was and decided to create around 50 books in different niches and they helped me earn over $7000/month in book sales. A lot of those books drove people to my blog where they purchased additional things as well. That’s why I like Kindle so much. It doesn’t take any previous knowledge, you don’t need to know marketing, you don’t have to write your own books, or design any covers. It also gives you the ability to expand into different business models like affiliate marketing. In a perfect world, you’d want your Kindle books to send people to your different affiliate offers.
