50,000 birds nest on a brand new Louisiana island

“This is the most birds I’ve ever seen in one single place, and maybe cumulatively, in a lifetime,” said Jeff Corbino, an environmental specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Interesting article and video about a new island that was created in South Louisiana and what it means for the wildlife there. This is great to see, I love that we are making progress in conservation and restoration in this area, it's such a beautiful place to visit. Dredging and fresh water diversion can make a huge difference to the Louisiana coast, I hope for more of this.....
