Trivia: Plastic Microfibers Poisoned Our Ocean & Food

Microfibers from our clothes are poisoning the ocean.
Fleece, nylon, polyester, and spandex are all made of plastic. And every time they go in the washing machine, tiny plastic microfibers are washed down the drain.

Seafood eaters consume 11,000 of them a year. Microfibers have also been found in honey, salt, and beer. The worst part? Toxic chemicals stick to plastic like a magnet, so these tiny fibers could be making us sick. The U.S has already banned microbeads so it's time to tackle microfibers. Synthetic microfibers are particularly dangerous because they have the potential to poison the food chain.

This would be good advice if the planet were not highly polluted with plastics.
