On July 23, 2018, the first “EOS Family Day”, co-hosted by EOS Gravity, EOS Cannon and MEET.ONE , was held in Shanghai as scheduled.
This day saw Thomas B. Cox, Brock Pierce, over 40 overseas and more than 20 well-known domestic BP teams, and nearly 20 outstanding Dapp teams gathering.
This is a significant feast dedicated to the EOS global community by EOS Gravity, EOS Cannon and MEET.ONE.
1. Brock: EOS Foundation is under way
Brock Pierce said in a welcome speech that EOS VC will invest $1 billion to promote EOS construction. He revealed that he is promoting the establishment of the EOS Foundation.
2. Thomas Cox: Governance is about making right decisions and executing them
Thomas B. Cox discussed EOS governance and constitution. What should we do to make right decisions and execute them? Why constitution is necessary? How to better the EOS governance?
3. Panel 1: How to run WPS better?
Thomas B. Cox: More volunteers are needed to participate in more proposals for constructive comments to help better spend WPS funds. WPS funds will have clear instructions when voting, to ensure that BP understands what to do.
EOS Canada introduced the initial framework of WPS: In the EOS system issuance, 4% enter the eosio.saving account, which will have 20% into WPS. After inflow to WPS, 10% is planned for emergency funding, 10% for infrastructure, 10% for community building, and 10% for development and other possible areas that may arise in the future.
David Margulies added about the framework: Each major category (such as emergency funds, infrastructure, etc.) will be further subdivided to ensure better implementation.
EOS SV: Before letting voters vote, WPS should show to the community its purpose, operation mechanism, structure and other details.
EOS Asia: The proposal is just a beginning and it requires community members to vote. We need to make community members understand they should vote for proposals.
EOS Real: EOS governance is not just at the code level, in which WPS can play an important role.
4. Panel 2: Explore the road of EOS governance
EOS Liquid: EOS governance is moving in a better direction, with more and more community members involved. In the process of governance, I believe that effective execution is very important.
EOS Tribe: Many EOS holders may even know nothing about EOS governance. Education is a very important way.
EOS New York: Before discussing, it is necessary to think about the role of arbitrator? We should listen to different voices and expand our horizons. I think we should increase the diversity of the arbitration system.
EOS Nation: People are complex creatures, which means governance is complicated. We should rationally think about what role governance can play in EOS.
Oracle Chain: People are complex creatures, which means governance is complicated. We should rationally think about what role governance can play in EOS.
5. Panel 3: EOS’s technology development
EOS Cafe: There are too many different opinions on governance issues. The most annoying thing for technicians is that there is no consensus. We can see from Github’s code update frequency and the number of participants, the EOS community has a large number of developers. I hope that the update frequency can be higher.
EOS Canada: As a BP, our primary responsibility is to maintain the security and stability of the EOS network. We should let more members participate in the EOS community building by technical means.
EOS Rio: Sidechains are very important allowing more Dapp teams to get development resources in the sidechain.
EOS DAC: The current security work is not enough, and the technicians should be more concerned about security issues.
EOS Sw/eden: What Block.one has achieved should be recognized. The things they built really helped our lives. Meanwhile, we are creating privacy protection measures needed by community members.
6. Panel 4: Communities should communicate more
EOS Dublin: We love what we are doing now, and we are grateful to EOS Cannon team for their positive contributions in promoting overseas BP to make contributions in Chinese community.
shEOS: It is very meaningful for different people gather and exchange ideas on EOS by events like meet-up.
HKEOS: Chinese market is extremely huge. We can’t ignore it. WeChat is a good tool to make communication in China.
EOS Authority: We used to communicate and work mainly through telegrams. Meet-Up like this is very valuable.
EOS Acro: Language is not an obstacle for us. We can solve the existing communication problems with tools like Google Translate. We need to focus on education for community.
EOS Pacific: We serve the community, especially in arbitration. As a participant in ECAF, we are actively building community consensus. We also seek to build diversity and hope that more members will support us.
Sheleaders: We are a female community with members from all over the world. A real community should be united by belief. I think the community is not just a collection of token holders. Each country’s BP is rich in its own national characteristics.
7. How to promote the development of EOS ecosystem
Block Matrix: We are working on code development at the infrastructure level and creating Dapps that everyone can participate in.
Saltblock: We are engaging more with Asian community.
EOS Pay: We have developed a multi-signature hardware wallet with high security.
EOS Shenzhen: We are a young team striving to provide true and stable service.
Sheleaders: The community should have a true belief. We want to help community members better understand EOS and make investment.
Tokenika: We are actively supporting EOS construction like governance and ARB. Now we have developed a smart contract testing platform.
ZBEOS: ZB is one of the world’s largest BP for EOS circulation. ZB has also established a EOS Foundation to incubate premium Dapp.
EOS Meso: We developed tools and games for EOS voting. We believe blockchains make life better.
EOSflytoMARS: We want to serve long term EOS holders and help more Dapps launch.
EOS Arabia: Welcome to Dubai community and it’s great to make acquaintance with other BPs.
8. The benchmark test of Bancor Protocol
Famous EOS technician John Milburn (telephone name: Jem) said Block.one is working hard to reduce the cost of creating EOS accounts and helping EOS holders have their own accounts.
The team is conducting a benchmark test of Bancor Protocol. Hopefully through the combination of DRAM and RAM, investors can both short and long, and RAM price can be lowered.
Besides, Eyal Hertzog from EOS Liquid explained the Bancor pricing mechanism of RAM in detail. Scatter from NS James introduced the EOS account system. Michael Yeates from EOS DAC shared his views on the EOS sidechain.
9. Dapp, the foundation for a prosperous EOS ecosystem
BitSpace: A mobile app that provides a gateway to the global blockchain economy (Bitgate).
AustinSouthEx: An EOS-based decentralized exchange (SouthEX).
Tayo Dada: An EOS network security detection application (Uncloak).
HKEOS & EOSeoul: Over 11 BPs are working together to create a WPS opinion collection platform to promote community building.
WhaleEx: An EOS-based decentralized exchange.
DILIDILI: Partnering with EOS Cannon and MEET.ONE, DILIDILI is building a new generation community for ACG fans, which is about to hit 100 million MAU on EOS.
EOS Cannon: Canon online + offline signature tool (Cannon offline tool). EOS users can save private keys offline, log in offline, which is safer for asset.
MEET.ONE: EOS Eco-Wallet (MEET.ONE), which is used for RAM trade, EOS asset management, creating EOS accounts in multiple ways, collecting EOS candy, viewing EOS news, etc.
EOS Dublin: A platform that better supports EOS community airdrops (Parachute).
Seyfert Blockchain Wallet: A wallet with multi-signature control account.
EOS Rio: Hyperion, an app to promote the healthy development of EOS ecosystem with functions including historical data API interfaces, EOS health control panels, forecasting and warning systems to secure the relationship between Dapp developers, BPs, and users.
Liang Liang: a public chain (Coinxp) that provides digital asset processing service for exchanges is being developed.
Sean Garden: A decentralized music platform (Emanate).
Eosio.sg: A high-performance, decentralized exchange (FinDex) that supports token transactions on all EOS networks.
EOS Asia: Two Dapps: A multi-function EOS blockchain viewer (MyEOSKit), and a developer-friendly test network (Crypto Kylin).
EOShenzhen: An EOS Referendum tool (EOS Referendum).
More wonderful moments:
