How to Buy EOS Tokens (A Guide for Newbies with Basic Knowledge and More)

This is a guide for newbies who want to purchase/get/buy EOS tokens. As this is for people who are still learning and starting with cryptocurrencies, this article will also provide a couple of heads up.

First, what is an EOS Token?

According to its official website (eos.io), "EOS Tokens are ERC-20 compatible tokens distributed on the Ethereum blockchain."

So, what exactly is ERC-20?

ERC stands for "Ethereum Request for Comments” - to avoid confusion, think of it as a token. These tokens are blockchain assets that have value and can be sent and received, like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, or any other cryptocurrency (http://support.exodus.io/article/108-what-is-an-erc20-token). Or simply, you can just think of it as a form of cryptocurrency for a specific platform.

Cryptocurrencies, in any form, are trending as they can be a really good form of investment, and EOS is definitely one of these currencies that are creating a huge impact on the market today.

So, how do we start? How can you purchase an EOS token?
Here's how:

Go to the website https://eos.io/.
Scroll down until you see this
Click GET EOS on the left side and the EOS TOKEN PURCHASE AGREEMENT (terms and conditions) will pop-up that would ask you to check all 5 boxes in the agreement.
(Note: A "U.S. Person" and/or "Chinese Person" is not allowed to purchase due to "differing regulations")
After checking the 5 boxes, click on "Continue" - it shall route you to another web page that says "EOS Token Distribution". You would need to scroll down until you see this:
If you already have a Google Chrome browser, you can just click on "METAMASK" under wallet. Ifyou already have an existing wallet, this step and step 6 is not necessary.
Clicking METAMASK will direct you to a new web page which gives you the option to either GET IT AS A CHROME EXTENSION or to GET BRAVE (download as an application).
You can then log in to your account and start "buying" these tokens. The Ethereum address for the token distribution is: 0xd0a6E6C54DbC68Db5db3A091B171A77407Ff7ccf
You can claim the tokens the day after "buying" it.
