Wizards game was successfully launched last Friday and we have already reached 10 000 of Wizards created. Players were so active that nearly all rare items were sold out in a Magic Shop for a short period. And we even not launched the main part of the game!
A couple of words about on how the Magic Shop is working
When we add a new item to the game (to smartcontract) we define few key parameters:
- Relative probability of the item that determines the probability of this item to be worn by a new Wizard.
- Initial number of copies available in the Magic Shop for sale.
- After that we are unable to manually change the number of copies available for sale in the Magic Shop.
To give a chance to get rare items for new players we have added a mechanics that adds copies of items in the Magic Shop when number of Wizards increases. When a new Wizard appears in the game our smartcontract generates initial items for him according to relative probability of each item.
After that our smartcontract generates 10 items for the Magic Shop following the same rules.
It means that if the item is pretty rare and has a probability of 1 out of 1000 to be generated for a new Wizard then one such item will appear in a Magic Shop for every 1000 Wizards created.
This mechanics is balancing the number of items available in the game for sale but not affecting on the items rarity.
New items in the game
For the game launch we have prepared 109 different items for clothing Wizards. But we are not limiting the game with this number, because we want all Wizards to be as unique as possible.
That is why we are going to add some new items to game. During the next month we are going to add about 50 new items with different rarities.
To make this process clear and predictable for players we have created a Coming soon part in the Magic Shop to show all new items that will be added into the game in a future.
You will be able to see new items rarity, quantity and the date to be added in a Magic Shop.

Item pricing in the Magic Shop
Item price is a dynamically changing attribute. It directly depends on the following ratio:
Sum of all basis probabilities of the item type/ itemβs basis probability of that type
This ratio means that when we will add a new hat all other hats price will be increased because the numerator is increased.
It also means that early buyers will have a more beneficial price on items.
It is important to mention here that items rarity is a relative feature and it depends on the items distribution in the game among all Wizards (including Magic Shop).
Rarity can be changed if players will delete some unattractive items and will be hunting for some cool ones. In the next article we will describe in detail how the rarity mechanics works.
