Dear friends, I leave for your readings the English version of a micro story I wrote some time ago. It is a Science Fiction story. Despite its title, the subject is more human than scientific.

Maybe that's precisely what it's always about.

She was grateful.

The illustrations are my own. I hope you like them too.

Hyperreality

Joyful against the bright sky of Ionix256, she rode the back of a blue steroid. Its rough and also somewhat leathery skin was reminiscent of a terrestrial pachyderm resurfaced in this galaxy. Lucia floated, soil samples well attached to the chair. She had fought to be part of the crew. She avoided butcher competition among exobiologists, running for the field crew, though she qualified as an expert on exophobia. And here she was.

Here she is happy.

They were really founding a new order. No one looked at her scars. She stood out for her dexterity in tame asteroideus, for transport recua. These animals made it possible to build the agriculture module when the standard equipment collapsed. They had meant the possibility of survival. On the other hand, they were very strong animals with sweet dog eyes. They liked to have the guidance of a dominant mind and hers was as strong as that of a survivor.

Esther had taken a few minutes to see her daughter. For six months she had been connected to the hyper-reality machine in the psychiatric asylum. Like every month, she had felt that the visit was a waste of time. I loved her, but she had never liked her. Intelligent... And bland, with no spark. And obsessive: six applications as a candidate for the expedition to Ionix256 and six rejections because of her suicidal tendencies. She looked at her scars. She felt pity and shame. Lucia consented to the virtual lodging and had been a blessing to all.

Esther shook her mane to ward off sad thoughts.

In a while she would be receiving visitors at home. It was her birthday. She wanted to look radiant
Gracias por la compañía. Bienvenidos siempre
