Today I woke up as my son told me that one of our computers simply turns off. He wanted to play Fortnite and we have experienced some trouble before while he was playing, but it has always turned out well in the end.
But, today things were different. We couldn't even start the game, the computer decided to turn off. I thought it might be some driver problem, so I booted the system in Ubuntu as I have it installed on the same computer. Maybe it was a Windows problem. But, then the computer kept turning off quickly after it booted into any of the systems. It was even interesting to notice that if I delayed the logon process, the computer would still turn off.
So, what caused this problem? It wasn't an operating system trouble since the same happened in Windows and Ubuntu. It had to be some sort of hardware problem.
I read a post saying that this could be a typical problem if something is wrong with the power adapter. I was lucky enough to have an extra adapter at home so I changed it (it took me some hours as everything had to be unplugged and when I had to plug everything back, it didn't fit well into the case etc). But, once I succeeded, the computer worked nice again and I do hope that the problem is solved right now (and for a very long time).
Now I am just happy that I am able to write this article at all, even though the cryptosphere is having a terrible and very red day today!
