You have taken the plunge. You've decided to try Escape Virtuality's escape rooms, but you don't know what to do when you get there. Do not panic. In this blog, I will share some straightforward tips and tricks that will help you become a master of any escape room.
Here are four steps that will surely dominate all escape rooms:
- Think simple,
- Organize yourselves,
- Give each member a role,
- Pay attention to the written clues,
Think simple
An escape room can be overwhelming for the uninitiated. What you need to know is that you have a set time limit to solve the puzzle. There will be clues and puzzles scattered throughout, which will lead to a solution and that these puzzles are designed to promote teamwork.
Depending on the escape room you choose, there will be events and actions designed to divert your attention from the puzzle at hand. Be aware of your surroundings, and whatever the distraction, try to focus on the dilemma at hand. Do not overthink about the clues of the room.
Get organized
The Scout's motto is, "Be ready." This is why it is vital to prepare for the adventure to come. Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance to meet the schedule.
Do not bring a lot of equipment and gadgets or outside technological devices. You can bring your smartphone with you. Using the device while the room is in progress may require you to leave.
Wear comfortable clothes. Escape rooms may require a good amount of movement and shoes that you can walk and move around.
Besides, Escape Rooms may not be suitable for children under the age of 12. If you have young children, they can use our many VR attractions, including our unique augmented reality climbing wall.
While the escape rooms are designed to provide a thrill and an adrenaline rush, some of these elements may be too scary for the young participants.
Team roles
Once you know the objectives of the escape room, it's time to get to work. The escape rooms are designed to be resolved by multiple players working in unison. Meet your team members, and clearly understand each person's goals.
Communicate, especially between you. When a team fails to solve a puzzle, communication failure, or lack of communication is likely to blame. Discuss with your teammates the clues you have found: brainstorm and set goals.
If your team is going to pair up to find clues in a part of the room, make sure that it is communicated to the other members and come back together after reaching your goal.
Pay attention to the written clues
Let's look at the first step again. Just think. If you are presented with a written clue, see where it leads. Try not to think about it too much. In most cases, the index is not trying to deceive you.
While some clues may be more subtle than others, these clues will usually lead you to other clues or an artifact that will help you solve the puzzle. The number of clues in an escape room varies depending on the experience chosen. But the number of puzzles is never more than thirty.
While it doesn't seem like much, too many clues or puzzles threaten to derail the game with too much tedious detail.
Puzzles can lead you to find a series of clues to discover an artifact. Or it could be to find a hidden switch or lever. Some puzzles may require the use of one or more discovered artifacts or use one or more clues.
If you come across a puzzle that seems to surprise you, you or your guests. Talk it over. Think outside the box, and usually, you work it out together.
I think I might have exaggerated. Till next time
