Spell magic is one of the most common types of magic. When choosing a spell, it is important to pay attention to the fact that it should not contain requests or calls for harm to someone. I love the spells and rituals associated with the Wheel of the Year holidays. Here is the spell from the a book "WICCA: Wheel of the Year Magic" by Lisa Chamberlain. I liked one of the rituals and want to share it with you.
Traditionally, Autumn is assocoated with the Element of Water, which rules the psychic and emotional tides that ebb and flow between our concious and unconcious selves. This spell makes use of the theme of balance with a candle floating in a cauldron. Use it as a portal to strengthen your inner balance for the coming season, and as a way of preparing for any shadow work you'd like to take on at Samhain.
You will need:
1 work candle
1 white floating candle
Small cauldron or bowl
Marigold or sunflower petals
Instructions:
Light the work candle.
Fill the cauldron with water up to about 1|2 inch from the top.
Sprinkle the flower petals on the water's surface, and gently float the candle among the patals.
Spend some time journaling about any inner conflicts or questions you'd like to harmonize within yourself. Try to write for at least 20 minutes.
When you feel you've hit on a particular aspect of yourself that could use some balancing at this time, write a short phrase or draw a symbol that represents it.
Light the floating candle as you keep this phrase or symbol in your third eye.
Sit quietly for a few moments and take in the sight of the flame, the water, and the petals.
You may wish to resume writing and/or stay open for any insights that come to you regarding your issue.
Leave tha candle to burn out on its own.
