The development of eSteem is slowly but sure. Even though it has just released the latest update on the ESTM token, but still eSteem is a worth dapp for everyday use.
It's quite a lag compared to other dapp point systems, but to be honest it's been a long time ago and I'm sure many Steemians have been waiting for the release of the latest update on eSteem's tokens.
Now I use the latest version of eSteem Mobile for Android.
Posting, commenting, voting, reblogging and just being active on eSteem apps is rewarded with eSteem token now!
Finally you can earn additional rewards using eSteem Mobile and Surfer clients! Those who used recent eSteem Surfer update already collected some eSteem tokens. There is no user interface for it in Surfer yet but all your actions are counted since last release and rewarded with eSteem token which you can claim using new eSteem Mobile 2.1 now.
At present the point system and tokens are indeed still in the development stage. We look forward to a more real use of this point system, such as to be exchanged for Steem or upvote from eSteem.
Hopefully everything will go well and increase the use of eSteem daily and increase positive things on the Steem Blockchain.

I do hope that it will be a success but I don't hope that they will follow the direction of Partiko, where you can get upvote with the earned Partiko points!
The way it is now, is much more rewarding for Esteem users and esteem itself.
