Mr Puppy Love : A Five Minutes Weekendfreewrite.

A beautiful serenity was all I could ask for this nice evening but my love for puppy obstructed it and made it something else. What my wife called 'puppy love' was always my pride. I love puppy, since I was born with it literally. My dad made sure the day I was born I got myself a puppy, the beautiful thing died of cancer five years after. I cried a little then, it was my first time seeing the death of an animal and understanding fully that when soul leaves a body, that is the end. The whole essence of being becomes just sand, dust, dead body, it. Nothing again is useful in a dead being, all that remains for an animal is meat. And for humans, memories.

I got myself another one just two month after, my love for puppy has increased over time. Jurry was the name, I named him so to be the judge for my street, he lived up to the name too. Always attacking every signs of evil. The bodyguard of the weak. Jurry was everyone's best friend. All went well till one day he was shot by a stray bullet in the midst of a bank robbery heist. He was trying to bark at one of the robbers to alert the police. The guy in black mask as I was told wouldn't want his location known so he shot deep into him enough to be silenced forever.

That was how I lost my Jurry, into the cold hands of death and I mourn him more than a human could. I cried tears out of my eyes till no line of water was found in my eyes.

I've had many dogs since then, many till I lost count of them, instead of being bereaved of a single dog I found the cure in having as much as many. I had more than I could count. I became the dog whisperer, many brought there dog to my house to mingle, if you want to travel, all you have to do is bring your dog to my centre and we'll keep the company till you're back just for a tiny fee.

But the news am hearing everywhere about a dog flu coming in through the state was enough to disturb my serenity this evening.

My entry into @mariannewest everyday #freewrite.

Ohhhhh Jurry!!! What a story this would make in cinema or comic book form! Jurry was the name,... the judge for my street, he lived up to the name too. Always attacking every signs of evil. The bodyguard of the weak. What a fantastic dog - and what a terrible ending. I don't have to ask if this story is true. It has the ring of authenticity and the under-stated heartbreak. :( Jurry, you will never be forgotten!

And I love your insight that the cure is to love MORE dogs instead of mourning one dog - I've met soooo many people who say they'll never own another dog again after losing the one they loved so much - your openness and willingness to care for other people's dogs is commendable. May the dog flu never come your way - only more love, more wagging tails, more friendships!

Waoh, thank so much for the feedback OK no the story. I personally haven't had a dog in my entire life but I drew the inspiration from a neighbour's dog who became part of the whole street. He was a friend to us all. And when he later died, the owner bought more dogs, more and more that when he was leaving our community we felt it.

Thanks for coming around here.

Aw, it's still a true story, then. Whether Jurry belonged to you or to your neighbor. It's a great message for bereft pet owners to embrace - take the love you had for that one dog and offer it to other dogs who need love. That said, it too a while before we owned another collie when our first two collies died. Take time to mourn, but don't mourn forever....

@botefarm, you've really touched our hearts & made us gloomy with this heart-wrenching freewrite.

My crestfallen mind came out with these lines.

"Oh my dear Jurry
you left this world in hurry
making your pet-parent worry
forever and ever and ever........ 😢

Just take a bow!
