Snakes are one of the most successful reptiles in the world. In mountains , forests , deserts , lowlands , agricultural land, settlement neighborhoods , to the ocean , snakes can be found. However, like most cold-blooded animals , snakes are increasingly rare in cold places, such as on mountain peaks, in the Irish and New Zealand regions and snow- or- polar regions .

Many types of snakes that throughout their lives roam the trees and almost never step on the ground . Many other species live on the ground or infiltrate under litter or piles of rocks. While others live aquatic or semi-aquatic in rivers , swamps , lakes and seas.
Snakes prey on different types of animals smaller than their bodies. Sea snakes prey on fish , frogs , tadpoles, and even fish eggs. Tree snakes and ground snakes feed on birds , mammals , frogs, other types of reptiles , including eggs. Big snakes like pythons can prey on goats , deer , deer and even humans.

● Rattlesnake ( rattlesnake ) is the only snake that lives in the United States in this list. Rattlesnake is easily recognizable by the distinctive sound of the tail end vibration.
