Esteem points?!?

Hey, I didn't want to put this question on my main account. So here it is, on a bit account lol.

I have noticed the new tab in the esteem mobile app, a gift wrap. After opening it it shows that I have points, my only question here is what are the points for and are they able to be used for something or are they just purely cosmetic?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    I do not use esteem it is not loading and has bugs but I assume it is the same as with Partiko. The points are steem and you can lay your hand on it by upvoting your own post?
