God is eternal: I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come

In the second part of his book, Isaiah tells us about the return of the exiles to the promised land in a new exodus, and to the sovereignty of God in the world. The Babylonian empire had exerted great pressure in the Middle East and its kings had shown little tolerance for foreign religions, in fact, the Book of Daniel tells us how Shadrach, Meshach and Abed Nego, men devoted to the God of Abraham, were thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to worship a gold statue erected by King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 3:1-30).
According to the law of Moses, idolatry is a grave sin, and so the Jews were very affected by the situation, the prophet Isaiah reminded to the descendants of Abraham that the Lord had not forgotten his covenant. With the arrival of Cyrus tolerance was imposed and the gods of Babylon were defeated: "Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden" Isaiah 46:1.
Isaiah reminded us that there is only one God who is omnipotent and eternal. God governs creation from an eternal present (God owns the past, the present and the future), and through his prophets makes us know what is about to happen, only to God corresponds the knowledge of the future. The prophets, like Daniel and Isaiah, had anticipated the fall of Babylon, and the plan of God continued its course of salvation.
God is perfect, and from his eternal presence is the savior of the people of Israel, explains the prophet Isaiah:
"Remember this, keep it in mind,
take it to heart, you rebels.
Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ´My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.´
From the east I summon a bird of prey;
from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about;
what I have planned, that I will do.
Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted,
you who are now far from my righteousness.
I am bringing my righteousness near,
it is not far away;
and my salvation will not be delayed.
I will grant salvation to Zion,
my splendor to Israel" Isaiah 46:8-13.
