Eudes naquit vers les années 852. Fils de Robert le Fort et d’Adélaïde de Tours, il fut le premier roi de la dynastie des Robertiens. Lorsque son père mourut en 866, il hérita du titre de marquis de Neustrie, qui peut de temps après, lui fut retiré par le roi Charles II le Chauve en 868 au profit de Hugues l’Abbé. Le voilà désormais à la tête d’un tout petit territoire personnel en Neustrie.

Son of Robert the Fort and Adelaide of Tours, he was the first king of the Robertian dynasty. When his father died in 866, he inherited the title of Marquis of Neustria, which soon after was withdrawn from him by King Charles II the Bald in 868 in favor of Hugues the Abbot. Now he is at the head of a very small personal territory in Neustria. He married Théodérade, granddaughter of Aléran, the count of Troyes. The couple will have a son Gui or maybe two: Raoul and Arnoul… The sources differ and do not allow us to be sure.
