It is the first day of July, and it is only 11 days left before the final of the European Championship in football. But, the road to Wembley is still long as the winning team still has three more matches left to play before they can consider them to be the best football nation in Europe at moment.
Since it is July 1st, it was June 30th yesterday. What does that mean? Yesterday was a day without football in the European Championship, and today it is time for the second day without matches in a row. Maybe you are feeling sick and really miss the matches, or maybe you have discovered that it is possible to do other things than to watch TV so late in the evening?
No matter what you feel, you better remind yourself that as of July 2nd, you will return to the normal pattern with two matches a day, one at 18.00 and one at 21.00 once again. We will see that for two days, then we will have another two-day break on July 4th and 5th, before the semi-finals on July 6th and 7th, then a three day break, and then it will be time for the final on Wembley Stadium on July 11th at 21.00.
Who will be there at Wembely to play the final?
What do you think? Which matches do you look forward to today in the European Championship in football in the knockout stage?
