Inetimi Timaya Odon, popularly known as Timaya, a prominent hip-hop artist, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
On Wednesday, an Instagram user named Osinubi Omowunmi accused the artist of beating a woman in the Ikate district of the state.
The victim was recognized as Omowunmi's sister by Omowunmi.
Omowunmi claims that the singer struck her sister's car and then attacked the victim when challenged.
"These celebs and how they behave," she commented on her Instagram feed, @whyte 26. This morning, Timaya came dangerously close to killing my sister. He ran at Ikate and hit her with his automobile a few hours earlier. My sister came down to beg him to look at what he did after he hit her car. This callous individual demanded a phone number and she informed him that he would be blocked. Instead of doing the right thing, @timayatimaya hit my sister with his car and fled.
"She's in the hospital right now in excruciating pain, and the craziest part is that I messaged him on Instagram to ask him to help her, but he banned me after reading my message."
"He is being investigated for a case of serious motor accident," CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the state's police spokesperson, said in a tacit statement on Thursday, confirming Timaya's arrest.
