I don't know why I have to explain this to people; but...

Okay, there's this meme going around showing images that reasonable people find grotesque in regard to childhood beauty pageants.

These images are accompanied with a scolding about the people who are okay with this, and not okay with children putting on drag shows.

The thing is, this is usually being shared by people who are supportive of child drag shows.

What you don't understand is that you're pissing on your own feet.

All you're saying is, "Hey, you supported this evil sexualization of young children. Well, you're gross. I think that this other sexualization of young children is awesome because we dressed it up differently."

I get why people are being this dumb; I mean, you can't get away from the stupidity of intersectionality in American government schooling anymore. What's more, people tend to think in a (haha) binary when it comes to any issue. "If you don't like young boys prancing around in almost no clothing, pretending to be girls, for crowds of adults who seem to find this to be great entertainment, you must be a country bumpkin who has been attending these childhood beauty pageants and celebrating them this whole time."

Ummm, guess what -- some people have been opposed to the sexualization of children, in a broad sense, for a long time. The South Park episode that attacked child beauty pageants came out well before Desmond is Amazing was a thing.

All you're saying is, "Hey, you've been doing this evil thing for decades, now it's our turn."

No, just stop doing the evil thing.
