A Rumination on Existence
What if the meaning of existence
Is to simply experience it.
To discover the sources
Of pain and suffering
To learn how to heal
And forgive it.
Pain that sprang
From its first invasion
Into the soothing darkness
With the command
“Let there be light”
What we didn’t know
What we couldn’t see
Couldn’t hurt us
Our ignorance was bliss
But the invasion of light
Burned away our ignorance
Killing our innocence
Revealing the nature of
And giving definition to
All things
Our task now
Is to experience and explore life
We must learn how to disperse
And distribute that pain
Transmuting it into pleasure
Until all that’s left of pain
Is a distant memory
And existence is one endless moment
Of pure ecstasy
