Is ExpressVPN a good VPN for Ubuntu?

in expressvpn •  3 years ago  (edited)

I have just installed Ubuntu on one of my computers and I also wanted to run ExpressVPN on the same computer. Is it a good combination? After all, I have read several places that ExpressVPN is supposed to be the best vpn for Ubuntu. Is that really so?

Is ExpressVPN really the best VPN for Ubuntu?

If you are an experienced Ubuntu user, then you will have no trouble actually using the command line in Ubuntu in order to run different commands and get things done. But, if you are a Windows user or one who have only used the main icons and surface of Ubuntu, then you will quickly be a bit scared by the command line in Ubuntu.

However, it doesn't have to be very hard, because you can download the install file from the ExpressVPN website and run it like you would in Windows. The next step is to activate your account. To do so, you have to use the command line and write expressvpn activate. That is easy and you can copy your activation code from the ExpressVPN profile.

Now there are different commands you can run, either to connect to one of the server, or if you want to install an ExpressVPN extension for Chrome or Firefox.

And you are ready to go and the VPN is working. It might not be as smooth as it is in Windows, but it is still quite delightful and it will give you an extra layer of protection as you surf the web, also while using Ubuntu.
