EXTROVERT PARADISE
For quite a while now I've had this vision of the earth. It's not really the planet we live on, but a metaphor, once again presented by Allen Watts. It's an image of society. Watts noted that there are two places in the vicinity of the doughnut model that are lawless. The doughnut hole, and the doughnut edge. Add this image to the line from The Doors' "Texas Radio and the Big Beat", (WASP), "out here on the periphery... we is stoned, immaculate." It's the border area. The border towns are usually, "energetic." There's a primal chaos. So far from central control, "the law" becomes something organic, delicate, optional. No one is going to save you so you must develop a combination of strength and courtesy.
The center of the doughnut hole is where the elites make laws to control the masses, yet are corrupt to the core. It's a constant power struggle. There's courteous deception, betrayal and treachery.
It's similar but different, in the badlands on the edge. Less population density makes central control more difficult.
It's the dough of the doughnut model where the maximum control is exercised. It's where the system operates and the population co-operates. Carrots hang from sticks. Competition is provoked. Thus "citizens" are set against each other. There's a constant contest to accumulate and consume; to shine, to floss, to flex. And the majority of the herd, born into the system, are unaware that they are trapped in the game.
Some who become aware and might want to exit the matrix, don't know how. Or don't want to make the sacrifices it takes to achieve freedom. Indeed they cannot even rathom how freedom without status/wealth can even be possible!
That's where we're going in this episode, before we get into the gym.
