Why did Facebook ban crypto advertising?

in facebook •  7 years ago

By now everyone knows that Facebook is no longer accepting BItcoin and ICO advertising.
So the question is why. Why would a for profit business cut a large revenue stream. There have been some reasons given, such as these adds are annoying, Facebook is just censoring, etc. These may be good reasons, but…I am proposing a different possibility.

Could it be that Facebook is planning an ICO of their own Facebook token?

They want to remove the competition first and then go strong on promoting their own.
What do you think of that possibility?

Let's stop worrying about what Facebook is or isn't doing

I have no use for Facebook, but it showed up as part of the FUD of the day. They could have a successful coin if that is their intention.

It's all about pushing the competition away

Sure looks that way
