She found me on FaceBook
wearing my portrait suit.
I couldn’t tell by the name
but she said she was cute.
I had to ask her up front,
how do you know me?
All I got back was a riddle
about Janis and McGee.
Her Irish eyes were smilin'
as befriending we went
with calls well past mid-night
with mutual consent.
It was too good to be true,
that my teen sweetheart dove
would accept my affection
for another in hidden love.
She angered at my comments
that were posted on the wall.
She scorned my private replies
saying I had some kind of gall.
Finally she spoke her mind
on a marathon phone brawl,
defriended me soon after
and wanted me to crawl.
I made her even angrier,
not friending her again.
The penitent emails
I would not entertain.
Social networking is like
a pent-up wild beast.
Getting in the cage
is risky say the least.
