According to a study by American and British professionals, it turns out that the advertising companies appearing on Facebook can catch you when you click or make them "like."
In doing this, Facebook's advertisers have increased their beauty products sales and gaming applications by 50% compared to advertisements that do not have a specific target group. More and more, online logs are packed with ads that you need to click in order to keep reading what's being written down.
"Even though you did not know, every step you make online is recorded - the site you visit, the purchase you make, the song you hear, the posts you post or read on social networks, and the sites you follow on Facebook," says study manager Sandra Matz, by CBS.
The study, conducted by Cambridge universities and the Columbia Business School in New York, shows that even the smallest "digital footprints" are used to influence the behavior of a large group of people.
Scientists have also used some pages that people liked to see their personality, showing the effect of "mass psychological obedience." They discovered that people who like some specific pages on Facebook, such as the LadyGaga fan site, are more likely to be more confident.
