Christian motivation and faith: That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God. 1 Timothy 4:10

The apostle Paul in his epistle to his disciple Timothy taught to the receivers of his letter that the most important thing is to seek the Kingdom of Heaven, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, because the Kingdom of Heaven contains as a hidden treasure the greatest good that a person can receive, and that good is the spiritual gift of eternal life, the contemplative activity.
And this was very important to Paul in his writings, because Paul had entrusted Timothy with the leadership of an important christian community, the responsibility of Timothy was great. Faith as a treasure could not be neglected.
And the apostle Paul warned his beloved disciple Timothy about the importance of taking care of the teachings of the gospels and the genuine motivation towards the love of Jesus, because many were the false teachers, that distanced people from the true spiritual search: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons" 1 Timothy 4:1.
Myths, fanciful tales, and gossip were very fashionable at that time and this only weakened the spiritual work of the teachers in the faith, a true Christian does not follow fantastic stories but the path of mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) warned Paul: "Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things" 1 Timothy 4:7-8.
And this search for true beatitude has a spiritual meaning, to reach the truth of God, in this way taught Paul this truth: "That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe" 1 Timothy 4:10.
As in Paul's time, still today people choose between beautiful lies and the gifts of God.
