We live in a world given over to sin in which the spiritual riches lack of all value, this is why the apostles remind us: "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.", Acts 14,22.
The kingdom of God is synonymous of beatitude; the beatitude is the fullness of spiritual goods, that is, it is not only happiness but longevity, peace, joy, well-being.
But entering the kingdom of God in the bible has many meanings; entering the kingdom of God can mean a change of heart and mind: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 18:3; "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again" John 3:3; enter the kingdom of God can mean a way to choose: "Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, ´How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God´, Mark 10:23
The kingdom of God is like the hidden treasure (Matthew 13:44), at first it cannot be perceived, because it is like a seed but as a result of the progressive mentality that seed grows until it becomes a plant that bears fruit and shelters the birds (Matthew 13:31-32).
Like Jesus in the desert and the rich young man who rejects Jesus because he had many possessions, the concupiscence of the flesh tempts us to abandon the path of mercy (compassion, benevolence) and the fear of God (firmness, constancy, devotion, equanimity). Furthermore, the heretics, the teachers of the error violently reject the message of the kingdom of God. This is what happens to Paul when he preaches the word of God in Asia and Greece. Heresies are oppressive because they feed the "business of ignorance". When the apostles Paul and Barnabas perform a miracle, the pagans think they are gods in human form in Acts 14:8-18. These are the hardships we have to pass to enter the kingdom of God.
