I once read a quote, "We have met the enemy. It is us." I couldn't disagree with that statement. As human beings, I believe that we have our dark and bright sides. We have every tendency to fall short into sin, because that is our greatest flaw. However, we are made right with God Almighty through Christ who saved us from eternal damnation.
Every single day of our lives on earth, we are in constant struggle against our selfish nature. There is an internal warfare between good and evil within us. Yes, it may be true that we cannot fall back to our old sinful ways for some time but the constant presence of temptation will sneak its way to us again. But with God's grace we cannot entertain them, and though we may sin again it is by the same grace that we are saved; for our salvation comes from the grace of God throughout faith in Jesus.
Yes, we still have internal warfare within us, but in our weakness, let us allow God to be our Perfect Strength. There is no other way.
