Bible wisdom: A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. Proverbs 28:20

The Bible constantly instructs us about the problem of money, riches help but they are not enough to reach happiness. Ambition and greed directed towards the apparent goods such as money, are the great evils of humanity, the idolatry of man does not lead to anything good, because when we talk about greed and ambition what we are really talking about is about human destructiveness, our neighbor and the social environment in this frame of thought do not matter.
The book of Proverbs, as a sapiential book, has a didactics, that is, a somewhat particular way of teaching, it gives us brief phrases to contrast error and wisdom, and how these factors play in the life of man, leading us to success or to ruin. The sapiential books seek to teach us the best and most excellent, but also warn us of life's problems. And this is so because man is an ethical being endowed with reason, and who has the ability to choose freely: "God in the beginning created human beings and made them subject to their own free choice" Ben Sira 15:14.
And so the Bible teaches us a beautiful phrase of wisdom about the problem of greed, and the faithfulness to the Lord: "A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished," Proverbs 28:20.
The Bible tells us that a faithful person who fears God receives a blessing, and this is so because these spiritual gifts are uplifting, progressive, assertive; and an example of this have been the lifes of Abraham, David, Solomon.
On the other hand, if we feed our greed excessively, the sins associated with this type of life will not go unnoticed, human beings live in a world governed by ethical laws (righteousness, the law of sowing and reaping), no one is beyond good and evil: "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind" Hosea 8:7.
